Civil Engg. on this earth started with the dawn of civilization.
Civil Engg. stands for creation and for construction.
Engineer's day is celebrated on 15th sept ember every year
because on this very day Sir M. Vishwesaraya, a great civil
engineer was born on this day. He was a doyen and a wizard of
civil engg. He was awarded 'Bharat Ratna' for his immense contribution
in the field of engineering.
Roorkee University(Now I.I.T. Roorkee) started in our country,
for the first time in 1846 as "Thomson college of Civil Engg.".
Thus Civil Engg. can be called as the father or Originator of
all Engg. in our country.
